In the above picture, Case Jr is calmly and steadly moving beside his goat herd as they graze. Please notice his posture as he moves along the herd. His head is low, below level, and his tail is relaxed. With this posture, Case Jr is signaling to his herd that he doesn't sense any trouble and that all is well.

Ignorant owners of show Anatolians do not like this posture to be displayed in the ring, even though it is correct posture for an Anatolian in the ring as well as the pasture!

Whether in the ring or in the pasture, when there is no danger present, all Anatolians with correct Anatolian breeding should clearly demonstrate with appropriate posture that they recognize that no danger is present.

When a judge and/or owner wants an Anatolian in the ring to hold its head and tail up and be animated rather than maintain a steady calmness, that judge and/or owner is selecting behavioral conformation antagonistic to correct Anatolian behavior. When you select behaviors contrary to the true nature of the breed, you are inadvertently working to undo thousands of years of genetic selection for proper demeanor!

Breeders who select for improper Anatolian behavior and demeanor to please ignornant AKC judges will ultimately damage Anatolian working ability!!!!!! When you see dogs in the ring with high energy with their head and tail up, check to see what kennel is breeding and selecting for improper behaviors and demeanor and do not purchase a pup from that kennel, especially if you need a dog with superior working ability!

because as a young pup he reminded me so very much of his grandfather, CASE.

Case Jr is a serious guardian who uses every advantage to catch a predator trying
to get one of his charges, including the extra height of a 6 foot round bale!
As you can see, here at Lucky Hit Ranch there are many hiding places for predators!
