BIRINCI'S YAHSI (HANDSOME) FROM WORKING ANATOLIAN TO SHOW ANATOLIAN FALL 2004 AN AKC CHAMPION (UNDEFEATED) IN ONLY TWO SHOW WEEKENDS! Although Handsome was raised at Lucky Hit Ranch to be a working lifestock guardian, the first time Kim Marcus saw Handsome's picture she recognized his tremendous potential as a show dog. Two months after Kim removed Handsome from his guardian duties at the ranch, and in only two show weekends, Handsome (shown by Kim) earned his AKC CHAMPIONSHIP. Below are pictures and information regarding HANDSOME'S AMAZING SHOW PERFORMANCE! BIRINCI'S Yahsi (Handsome), shown by Kim Marcus, at his first show. Yahsi was awarded SIX Championship points in three show days (August 27-29, 2004) in Georgia, taking WINNER'S DOG, BEST OF WINNERS, AND BEST OPPOSITE SEX every day for the three days of the show! Superior working ability, excellent temperament, and show dog too! What more could anyone want? CHAMPION BIRINCI'S Yahsi (Handsome) Yahsi earned his AKC CHAMPIONSHIP UNDEFEATED in ONLY two show weekends! Yahsi was beautifully shown by Kim Marcus at the 2004 ASDCA National Specialty in Atlanta, Georgia, September 16, 2004. This was Yahsi's second SHOW WEEKEND (September 16-19, 2004) and he was awarded First Place Open Dog, WINNER'S DOG and BEST OF WINNERS, earning a FOUR POINT MAJOR Thursday and a FIVE POINT MAJOR Friday, completing his AKC Championship requirements. Yahsi also earned FIRST PLACE in the WORKING DOG EXHIBITION at the 2004 ASDCA National Specialty. The ASDCA awarded Yahsi a beautiful Turkish spiked collar for this win! By the 2004 National Specialty Judge, Richard G. (Rick) Beauchamp "The Open Dog, BIRINCI'S YAHSI, impressed me from the moment he entered the ring. Calm, dignified, observant--a picture of strength without lumber. He maintained the correct silhouette both standing and in motion. Slightly longer than tall, with what I call the "lazy-s" topline (a very gentle curve downward behind the withers then arching slightly up over the loin area). The correct and matching front and rear angles allowed him to move easily along. Coming and going confirmed what his side gait led me to anticipate--total soundness. Good head properties--power without coarseness with beautifully made and placed ears and a well shaped eye of good color." On October 2, 2004, Handsome went BEST OF BREED, securing two breed points as a Champion Special. The most amazing thing is that his handler, Kim Marcus, had to be in the another ring to show her Havanese pup, CHAMPION Sunberry That's Carnivale (Rio), who went Best of Breed also. Kim asked Samantha Gillenwater, a very petite twelve year old junior handler, to take Handsome ringside until Kim could arrive to show Handsome. However, because Kim was winning with Rio and couldn't leave her ring, Samantha had to take Handsome in the ring, giving Handsome his first BEST OF BREED win handled by a petite twelve year old! (Samantha went on to be the best junior handler in the show.) Handsome also went BEST OF BREED the next day. And Handsome's not yet two!
