Çapar means brindle. He turned 4 years old in February, 2010.
In Turkey near the old village of Çardak (a Turkish word meaning arbor or summerhouse, Çapar worked guarding sheep.
The new village name is Altinkaya, meaning gold stone. Altinkaya is located in central Turkey southeast of Tuz Golu.
Çapar's dam was fawn with a black mask; his sire was brindle.
